We have a substantial amount in Postbank and have panicked a bit now that they are near closing. Has anyone an idea where best to move this money to? We have about 40,000. Is it better to leave it in the post office in one of their savings account. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
 
I would suggest you look at An Post Savings Certs or Bonds. If you do not wish to tie it up for min. 3 years, then there are a number of fixed deals for 12 months at 3+%.
