Possible to retrofit Dead Bolt to Upvc door?

Unfortunately came home last night to find the house broken into via back door.
Also amazed at the ease to which they seem to have gotten through the locking system.
Question is has anyone ever retro-fitted a dead bolt to a upvc door?
The door is quite new so don't really want to go down road of changing it unless I have to..

Did not realise this until recently but the locks on sliding PVC doors are easy to get around. A locksmith should be able to install a better one. There is also a latch they install at the end of the sliding part to stop the door sliding even if the lock is open.
