A year ago I took leave from work (teaching) due to burnout. I was on sick leave for months. After christmas I opted to take career break as I felt I wasn't ready to return as my physical energy was still not strong enough. I haven't been earning since Christmas -but thankfully my family have helped me out a lot. I gave notice to leave my teaching job in March as I didn't want to return to the same working environment. So...officially I'm on Career Break which lasts till end of August -though I won't be returning to my old job. I wonder whether I'm entitled to any financial assistance? I've never claimed social welfare before so I'm unsure of entitlements and how to go about it! Any help is much appreciated! Thanks.
