It's the same guy and he sent them to 30 users each, so some people got them twice.

We had cosidered limiting the PM function to Frequent Posters but this happens only rarely, so it's not worth depriving normal users of the facility.

I got one too from this joker. More fool me and replied. What's to stop him/her doing it again under another pseudonym. I must admit I had a moment's suspicion but ignored it. Never occurred to me that spam could arrive via P.M.

I wouldn't worry too much - spammers don't last long on AAM. The two mentioned above sent PMs to a small number of users before the moderators were alerted and they were banned. As far as I'm aware PM spamming is not a major problem here and board spamming is generally dealt with very quickly. If you are really concerned then you could configure your profile to only accept PMs from specified users.

We are getting new reports of spam by PM.

On the top of each message, there is a Report PM icon, which is a triangle.

Please use that to report the Spam so we can ban the spammer.
