Planning permission to put up bollards on road

Hi
Could someone tell me if a management company would need planning permission from the Council to
A. Erect parking bollards
B. Install speed ramps
 
Where did they want to install - on a road owned by the Management company or on a public road?

On a road owned by the Management Company.(Its a public road but owned by the Management Company, not taken in charge by the council)

What's the purpose of the bollards? Are they perhaps to prevent parking in unuthorised spaces (if so they would be reinforcing the existing planning restrictions).

Thanks, Leo, the bollards are to stop cars\vans parking up on grass areas. The grass is getting destroyed
 
how can it be a public road owned by a management company? is it not a private road then?
Probably similar to situation in Northwood Dublin, where road is still maintained by a private body, but access has not been restricted. It is de facto part of the public road network in Dublin
 
Large boulders would do the job, or tree trunk would look more natural.
One of the tree surgeon companies can drop one off.
Any complaints from council, it can be sawed up.

These are private roads where public access is by permission of the owner. Similar legal standing to car parks, etc. in that road traffic act still applies even though it's private property.

As per the article then these would likely be permitted so as to enforce the conditions of the original planning. It's normal for developments such as that to have strict conditions on the number of parking spaces permitted.

If the Co. want to be sure they can seek a declaration as to whether a proposed development is exempted or would require planning. Will cost €80 to submit but you'd get clarity. SDCC link here, but each authority will have their own equivalent.
