Planning Permission in Wicklow

I own a piece of land in Wicklow, I got planning permission to build a small food production unit and a dwelling on it about 8 years ago but my circumstances changed and I couldn't go ahead with it. I put it on the market and a few buyers have enquired as to weather they could change useage of the business and all have been refused and so no one has bought it. The permission has lapsed.

I now live in the UK but am hoping to move back to Ireland in the near future.

There is a ruined house on the land and I am now thinking that I would like to renovate the ruin and make that my home. My qustion is do I have any hope of getting permission to renovate the ruin(hasn't been inhabited for about 100 years)? I'm from Wicklow and I don't own anything else. Anyone have any idea if this would be possible?

Ruins in County Wicklow

There may be a possibility depending on the quality of the ruin and its historic value.
