Planning granted, what are the next steps? Architectural detailed plans vs. Engineer's plans

Hi

I have received planning permission for a renovation of my house. The plans include building a new porch, a small remodeling at the back, and the removal of an internal wall, with associated steel supports.

Is it necessary to continue with the architect to get to the tender process? Can a structural engineer draw up suitable plans for the construction specification, based on the plans submitted for planning?

Of course he can, but i'd advise you to get a QS for the tender process if it's a pricey job. The wall removal and RSJ supports will need an engineer for specifying the steel specs.
