Is it advisable to take personal accident insurance for children - if for example they are doing horse riding/scuba diving/surfing. Have the regular health insurance with Laya. Just wondering is that enough in the event of a serious accident.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

my daughter has one with Marsh Ireland for €7.50 a year through her school. Covers her 24 hours a day, I'm not sure if scuba diving would be covered on it. Maybe check if your school does something similar.

just looking at policy it excludes horse/pony racing or jumping and white water rafting, no mention of scuba diving. Policy is with Allianz

That school one is good value. There's two types though, one is 24hr cover and the other is school day only.

Personal accident gives a set amount per defined injury and/or contribution towards medical expenses without the need to prove fault on another.

Thank you for replies will check out details of the school cover and see where to go from there. Thanks again much appreciated
