Permit for skip hire

Hi

I am ordering a skip and am wondering if I need a permit and where do I go for one? I live in an estate is a small cul de sac with loads of parking, and was going to ask neighbours if I could put it (small mini skip) into a parking space (unused one) for a few days?

CAn anyone tell me if I will need a permit?

I think the skip hire companies usually sort out the permit.

You need to buy a permit to put a skip on a public road where parking restrictions apply. This includes:

• Double yellow lines
• Paid parking zones, e.g. pay-and-display
• Clearways

You do not need a permit if you want to put a skip on a road with no parking restrictions.
