Back in 2018 I had my house repossessed by pepper was told it was all I had at the time was supposed to be wrote off but there still on my credit report for 395000 after 7 years how do I get this lies off my report any information would be appreciated

Are you sure that your don't still owe this money or the difference between this sum and what the repossessed property sold for?

Mortgage loans in Ireland are generally not nonrecourse so having the property repossessed or "handing back the keys" doesn't automatically absolve you of liability for the debt.
What agreement did you come to with Pepper regarding the loan at the time of the repossession? Did the court make any orders with regard to the outstanding debt?

To correct a Central Credit Register record see here:
How do I request a credit report, put up an explanatory statement on my credit report, request an amendment to information on my credit report, or ask you to place a notice of suspected impersonation on my credit report?

You can make an application here, or please see our factsheets on our publications page.

I had a intermediary man at the time he said when they take the house I had nothing else to my name I haven't heard anything from pepper since but it's on my credit register for 395000 even though I only had 17000 original loan no mention of repossessed house on report

I had a intermediary man at the time
Can you contact this person to see if they can help you clarify what exactly happened at the time? Don't you have any paperwork relating to the loan, repossession, and aftermath?
I only had 17000 original loan
Do you mean that the original loan was €395K but when the property was repossessed there was only €17K outstanding?
no mention of repossessed house on report
That's to be expected. The CCR doesn't deal with such issues.

How much of the €170K that you originally borrowed did you still owe at the time of repossession?
Maybe €395K is what you owed at the time of plus interest and/or arrears?
You really need to locate some paperwork on this issue and/or talk to the intermediary who assisted you before in order to clarify matters.
There's always a possibility that you DO still owe €395K to Pepper.
But there could also be some mistake here which needs to be corrected by contacting the CCR.

From an answer to a Dail question in 2023, the then Minister of Finance (Michael McGrath) stated
Where all liabilities under the loan agreement have been discharged, the credit information is held on the Central Credit Register for a period 5 years after the loan is discharged.

So this could be a timing issue, in that depending on when the final paperwork was signed, the 5 years may not have elapsed. It wont be from the day "the keys were handed back", it will be from when the loan agreement was discharged.

Who was the "intermediary man"?

I originally borrowed 170000 paid back two years to ptsb they sold my mortgage to pepper made up something was not paid on a DD they put my repayments up to nearly 1800 a month I did keep paying it until I no longer could so I stopped paying they repossessed house and was told I had no more assets to give had a intermediary looking after it all now more than 7 years on it's up on my ccr for 395000 I'm wondering if this will go away eventually or I'm I saddle with it for life

@marcovan221, you haven't addressed my points about digging out any paperwork related this issue and/or contacting the intermediary in order to try to clarify the exact details of what happened at the time of the repossession. Are you not willing/inclined to do that? I can't really see any other option unless you contact Pepper directly and that might not be in your best interests. Maybe MABS might be able to assist/advise you. The whole thing seems a bit confusing and it's difficult to make sense of the bits and pieces that you're posting about it to be honest.
