Paypal to receive money from family?

Hi,
I have sterling that a family member wants to transfer to me and i wanted to check what is the best way to receive this money? They have mentioned sending the money via paypal but im not sure if this would work out the best value for money or should we consider xetrade etc? The sum of money is £2500.

Apologies if i have placed this in the wrong forum...
 
The best way for such a small sum would be if your family could transfer it into your bank account directly. Paypal will cost you.
