Payment Protection - Refund?

I've been reading askaboutmoney for a few months and have found the financial advice very useful.

Anyway I took out a loan with AIB a few years ago and took out Payment Protection with it. I paid the loan back early (think the loan was for a period of 3 years, paid it back after 1.5) along with the full PPI. After reading a few articles on this issue on this and other websites I am now under the impression that I may be due a partial refund in relation to some of this PPI. Is this right?

You should certainly ask AIB about a refund-it might also make sense to read the terms and conditions of the loan and related insurance to see what, if anything, they have to say on the matter.
