Hello,
sale is currently going through on a property.
I know I will be liable to pay CGT on any profit.
Can I do this myself or do I need to hire a tax accountant to do it for me?
Thanks
L

You can do it yourself, the form can be downloaded from Revenue.ie, you will have to make the return before November this year I think, it is straightforward, I'm in the same position myself.

I believe you can ask your solicitor to send the appropriate funds to the revenue when he is completing the sale.

Thanks very much for the replies. My solicitor is telling me I must use a tax accountant....

Good advice. You can of course ignore it if you wish but unless its very clearcut (eg you've made a loss on the sale) and you know what you're doing...
