Paying higher tax and losing income?

Hello everyone,

I am looking for info on the issue below:

So I get paid fortnightly including my overtime hours. Today I got paid without overtime and I rang the finance office who told me they forgot to add my overtime hours on todays payslip. They promised it will be all paid together on next payslip and apologised as I will be paying higher tax on next payslip.

Does this mean I will be losing my money because of higher tax? Or is the tax going to be equally distributed by the end of this year?

Thanks Rob.
When the finance officer apologized I thought I am losing the hard earned bucks. Glad to know overall it's all good.

This. While it is probably not ideal for your cashflow (as you have to wait for the net pay from your overtime) you won't be penalised because of an uneven payment sequence.
