Health Insurance Paying for implant

I have a baby tooth eye tooth, which years ago, my orthodontist chose to leave in as it was secure and he was happy with it, looking back now I wonder if that was a mistake. The adult tooth was removed from the roof of my mouth while they were taking out my wisdom teeth.

Over the last while the gum around the baby eye tooth has started moving back more and more, and the tooth has become discoloured. I think it has finally seen its day. Yesterday the gum just felt wrong behind my teeth. The tooth is still not loose but it is going to happen some time very soon.

I am guessing it would be better to have this removed and something like an implant put in its place, rather than letting it fall out on its own, which may affect the teeth around it.

A dentist I rang this morning told me he would have to refer me to a specialist and the cost could be around €2,500. I then called one place in Newry and they gave me a rough quote of €2,059 (Euros), which does not seem like too much of a saving, especially if I have to drive up there and back 5 times, and take time off college or work to do so.

As I just work part time money, or the lack thereof is a factor. I was hoping this is something I could pay off month by month as I just to not have a spare €2,000 laying around. Are payment plans common? I can really only afford around €200 per month, maybe a little more if I really squeeze myself.

As a student I have a medical card, but there is probably no way it will cover anything cosmetic like an implant?

How do I find a reputable dentist to carry out this work? There are many on Google near Sandyford where I live, but is there some way I can confirm I am going to a quality practicioner?

Looking for advice.

Your post is not clear, has a Dentist examined you, taken x-rays etc and confirmed you are suitable for an implant, if not that is the first step.

Tax payers can get tax relief at 20%. As you are a student, I assume you're not paying tax. Maybe it's possible for your parents to pay, and get tax relief, and you can repay them?
One of my sons, who is a student, has been assessed as suitable for implants. If he decides to go ahead, I'll be paying and getting tax relief. (I'm not expecting him to pay me back though).
