PAYE to Self Empoyed

Hi

Would my employer be against me changing from PAYE to self employed, what is the impact to them if any?

Im going to be hit with 50% tax in April, someone advised me to look at the SE option and work as a contractor. How would the HMRC view this as Ive been with them for 10 years

You mention HMRC, are you in the UK? If so you might not get the information you require here as AAM is an Irish based site.

HMRC object to this. refer to their guidance IR35. It s a question of fact whether you are employed or self-employed. It is not actually a taxpayer choice.
