Hi,
Can a proprietary director of a company claim the PAYE tax credit while being an employee of a 2nd company?
I am a director of my own company, which was set up to provide consultancy work. My work involved both short & long term project type roles. As a proprietary director my understanding is that I am not entitled to claim the PAYE tax credit.
With the current environment over the past year consultancy jobs in my field have become difficult to obtain. I have recently taken on a role with another client however this role has required me to be an employee of my client company. My question is as I am now an employee of a company which I am not a proprietary director am I entitled to claim the PAYE credit. My own company is still active however I am not drawing a salary from it. My intention would be to maintain the company as I feel trading will improve in the future.
A 2nd question is that if I am entitiled to claim the PAYE credit would this be impacted upon if I were to draw a salary from my own company while continuing to be an employee of the second?
Regards,
