so am PAYE. Earned 1635 euros in 2012 for a tiny bit of freelance consultancy work.

do i have to declare it on a Form 12 and can i do it online? I can't justify the expense of an accountant.

would it be worth ringing Revenue (prefer not to).

I thought there was a threshold, the figure 3000 is in my head, have a recollection of an accountant saying that to me a year or so ago?

know the deadline is today.

thanks

You can file a Form 12S which is available here http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/tax-return-forms.html.

This small amount will not, of itself, put you in self assessment. The filing date is today but you are unlikely to get hit for a surcharge as you aren't in self assessment. you can always file the form today and get a certificate of posting to proof filing which the Revenue accept in practice.
