Pay down mortgage

Potentially have the ability to pay down nearly half of my mortgage. Good job and salary and wife is civil service.
No other major outgoings.
2 small kids.
Most of it on deposit.
Tempted to go to zero and clear off some debt.
Late 30’s.
Any advice. Creche and mortgage are a drain on my salary every month but still able to save quite a bit.

Unless you're on a cheap tracker and/or have zero pension provision, the advice will likely be to clear your mortgage straight away.
Quite an achievement in your 30s!
