Paving Material

Hi,

I am thinking about taking up a concrete area at the back of my house to lay a new patio. I would like something low maintenance and would like to avoid Indian Sandstone and Cobblelock which in previous gardens seemed to require constant cleaning to keep the vegetation growth off them.

Is Limestone more resistant to the green/black vegetation growth that occurs on sandstone? Would sealing it help? I was looking at black limestone paving at the weekend and thought it would disguise the vegetation for longer at least than the lighter coloured paving.

Perhaps there are other options although most suppliers seem to offer sandstone, limestone and granite.

Its quite a large area and might cost a bit so would like to get it right and not have to re-do it again. Any advice greatly appreciated!
