Painting newly plastered wall & I forgot a mist coat - Help

Hi all,

I have the first coat of paint matt emulsion on it looks very patchy in spots - so I just goggled and I have seen that I should have done a mist coat - how can I fix this now before I go on?

Any help would be great.

I'm not a paint expert but I think there is no problem.Just put 2nd and 3rd coat if necessasy.By not putting the mist coat, it just means that you will use more paint. The new plaster will soak up paint very quickly, thats why you will need more. a diluted first coat or mist coat just saves you money by using less paint overall...as far as I know...open to correction by paint experts!
 
Thanks a mill for that......read lots of stuff on the net about paint flaking ect.. and got disheartened was not going to bother painting this evening after my hard slog yesterday but you have given me hope again now thanks Spudz

Give that first coat plenty of time to dry fully before doing the second coat. You may run into problems with it peeling if you rush it.
