Hi,

We had a woodburning stove put into our living room and it's great but we opted for a matt finish. I don't mind the slightly used/dusty look but my wife hates it!

I was wondering has anybody hand painted any of these with enamel paint or anything like that? Were the results good? Did it last long?

Any advice?

i haven't used this stuff, just googled it. i actually didn't know that stoves could be painted, but i suppose why not?

we have the stanley erin in majollica brown and i love it. it's so easy to clean the paintwork. just a wipe of a damp cloth and it's lovely and shiny.

is the matt hard to keep clean?

thanks.

matt is impossible. the ash gets ground in and when you wipe it looks clean, but when it dries you can see all the streaks.

Don't know what kind of stove you have, but why not buy a tin of black stove paint/spray. Brings your stove back to new!!

when the lined stainless steel chimney was installed it was sprayed matt black so I assumed the sprays were all matt.

It seems there are a few options. Has anybody painted a matt stove with success? I wouldn't like it to be ruined.
