Hi,
I lost my job in Oct 2012 and received Job Seekers Benefit for the rest of the year (& onwards).
I recently went online and requested my P21 Balancing statement and this week received a check for overpayment of tax. (Great)
The amount is for ~€800 (PAYE + USC)

But when I looked into the PAYE explanation detail I see that they added my Income from my job (~€47k) + Job Seekers (~€2k). Is that right?
It makes a big difference:
My quick calculations I see that if I remove the €2k, the PAYE overpayment goes from €731 to €1,550.

I hope you can help clarify if I have received the correct amount.

Jobseekers benefit is taxable income.
Jobseekers allowance is not.

So, once they have done the balancing, it should be correct.

Thanks xeresod and Mrmr
Disappointed to hear as need is great. But of course the Overpayment is still more welcome than a kick in the gut.
