Presuming Canadian Training is reciprocal with An Bord Altranais training then if he/she is coming in as a basic staff nurse with ten basic staff nurse years experience then she should be on the top of the scale , ie tenth yr. If she has had more than ten yrs then she can also claim long service increment, which is an extra three yr scale. I'm not sure but the job she is stepping into may have to be permanent in order for her to get her proper rate, hospitals here tend to employ nurses on a temporary basis to reduce costs. If she has extra qualifications in particular areas, eg Sick Children, Psychiatric or Intensive Care/Cardiac Care then she will qualify for extra pay. She would have to provide evidence of this experience to her new employer. I don't have a recent salary scale for nurses to hand but The Irish Nurses Organisation would have up to date rates if you want to call them. Here is the website of An Bord Altranais who have a link on Overseas Registration.
