im out of work 3yrs and have all my stamps used am i entitled to any benifit of any kind as im pregnant and wont receive maternity benifit.

You must be in recent employment to get Maternity benefit. Out of work 3 years would be too long.

More info needed. What are you living on at the moment? Why should you be entitled to SW now if you are not already getting it?

I think, now I do stand corrected, if you work for 4 days in a year you will get maternity benefit.

I know that sounds mad, a friend of mine was made redundant 1.5 years ago while on Maternaty leave, she was due to come back to work 1 month later.. About 3 months later she became pregnant again.

As she would not have been working for the year - she was told that if she worked 4 days before the baby was born she would get state maternity pay.. But as I said I do stand corrected...

Ah, now that's different. Effectively, she was in employment all along due to her own particular circumstances?. So you literally meant 'work four days'! A bit misleading perhaps to generalise that 'if you work four days in a year you will get Maternity Benefit'?

sorry i meant to tell you im on jobseekers benifit at the minute which will run out in 2mths of which at that time i will be 4 and a half mths preg and just wondered if id be entitled to anyother sw benifit as i wont get MB.

If you're still available for work when your JB runs out, you'll be assessed for Jobseeker's Allowance which is means-tested. If you qualify, you can continue to claim that until the baby is born. After the baby is born, you can apply for One Parent Family Payment (which is also means-tested).

Jobseeker's Allowance if you satisfy the means test. If you continue to satisfy the conditions after the baby is born, then you can still claim that.

Previous post crossed with Gipimann's. OFP only iof you are single parent.
