Out of country 50% of time

Hi,
I thought i heard recently that there is a tax allowance/lower rate/refund mechanism for people that spend considerable amount of time out of the country working (while still getting paid in Ireland).
any information on that and how it works, what the terms are and what evidence is needed to claim would be appreciated.

You probably heard of Foreign earnings deduction.

Here is the Revenue information on it. Unfortunately, it was scrapped a few years ago.
