My brother & partner & 8 year old child are in a rented house for approx. 6 years. He was served with a Notice to Quit sent to him via registered letter from a firm of solicitors. I have seen the notice and it ticks all the boxes and appears to be fully compliant with the requirement in terms of notice period etc.
He has genuinely been trying to find alternative accommodation and hasn't been able to. His Quit date is 24th November but now he is getting anxious that he may be turfed out of the property on that date and have nowhere to go. The landlord appears to be very intransigent and not prepared to leave him there beyond the 24th. Has he got any options at all??

At the risk of sounding insensitive, the landlord has followed procedures correctly and ample notice has been given.

The only option your brother has is to find another place. His landlord is under no obligation to house him or to look after his housing needs.

Your brother will have to cast his net wider in looking for a property to rent.
