Opening a new Bank a/c & Laser card

Hi,
Out local Nib is closing down & the nearest is 40 mile away so we will need a new Bank account with a different bank to lodge Dh wages into.
Will a new Bank let us open a new account & give us a laser debit card with our credit rating not exactly spotless?We have Never defaulted on Loans Or Mortgage,Only our credit card which the payments are now up to date.?
Also our nib account has a €500 overdraft which is a godsend at the end of the month while waiting to be paid,But i dont suppose another Bank will give us one of those eighter:(
The other 2 banks in my town are Boi & Aib
Really mad a nib for leaving us all high & dry
 
If all you are looking for is a 500 EUR overdraft, I would not imagine that you will have a huge problem. Why not ask them both before you switch.
 
Do you need to lodge cash? Seems easier to ask for pay to be sent into the account electronically. Then you can withdraw as you need from atms everywhere. My nib branch is closing but I never even stepped inside it in the last 6 years. No need with online banking and atm cards.
