Hi guys, i have just recently had a baby but am no longer with the father so i am a lone parent, although his name is on the birth cert and my son has his fathers sir name he is not paying maintainance so i am a lone parent. Am i entitled to the lone parent payment? i am unemployed and recieving maternity benefit every week, i am also living on my own in an apartment paying rent and bills every month... i know lone parents is means tested.... also does someone come out to check your house because i am very rarely at home during the day as i am on my own with the baby i like to go out and about.
