One-day seminar in spread trading from Wolfgang

Hi, I am interested in the one-day seminar in spread trading provided by Wolfgang in for €480.00.

They claim that the course "will guide you through the principles required to start trading, the management of open positions and the trading strategies you can learn to be profitable."

My question is can I learn this information from books and particiapting in forums rather than doing a course such as the Wolfgang one.

Secondly, can anyone receommend such a forum?
 
Why would you pay 480 euros for a seminar when you can attend some seminars on spread betting and technical analysis for free. Most of the spread betting companies provide seminars for free.
