On SW for 7 weeks in 2009, due tax back?

Hi all,

As per subject line, I was made redundant and was on SW for 7 weeks in Sept/October 2009. Thankfully back in employment beginning November. Firstly am i due a tax refund? Secondly would I have received any tax refund in my December pay or do i need to apply for this?

As a PAYE worker any tax refund should have been processed in your December pay, and would have been done automatically if your employer was issued with an up to date tax credits certificate by Revenue. Ask your employer, they will know if this is the case, if you're unsure you can contact Revenue and ask for a Balancing Statement (P21) which will show any under/over payment of tax for the year.
