Ombudsman keeps giving AIB extensions

I have a case with FSPO re tracker mortgage with AIB.

IT is at the investigation stage whereby FSPO gave AIB summary of complaint mid December 2022. By default AIB had an initial 20 days to respond.

On the last of the 20 days, AIB then requested a further 2 month extensions which they were granted.
And on the last day of that extension they requested a further 6 week extension which they were again granted.

I was seriously annoyed with this recent extension. It looks like AIB do not prioritise these cases at all - and the FSPO is complicit in it by allowing this culture of continual - and lengthy - extensions.

AIB announced mega profits the last couple of years - if they have staffing issues it is clearly because they did not prioritise it.

Is this normal practice or what?

I wrote a right stinker of an email to the FSPO yesterday when I found out. To add insult to injury i had to send repeated emails with no reply from FSPO on the status for both extensions AIB received. It really does not give me much confidence in the FSPO.
