Has anyone used old carpet to stop weeds coming up? I've a tiny lawn and am going to gravel over but have an old carpet and was thinking of laying it first to stop weeds coming up. I'll spray the grass first of course.
Don't bother spraying it - the carpet will kill it off very effectively. It'll need to be left down for a year - Bob Flowerdew always uses it in his garden to great effect.
