Oil Vs Gas Stove for open plan Living/Kitch/Dinning Room

I am looking to install a stove in my living room but cant decide which fuel to go with. Every shop I visit seams to recommend something different and I'm getting so confused.

I have oil central heating but find downstairs never seams to be warm. Currently I'm thinking an oil stove - but am I mad with current fuel prices?

My living room is (14Ft x 14Ft) which has an 8Ft archway into my kitchen dinner (32Ft x14Ft) and I want to heat the whole space.

Both myself and my partner work long hours so solid fuel is out as we get home so late.

I presume your not in a nat gas area so a stove on cylinders willl use about a litre of propane an hour depending on rated gas input but hey are usually about 7-9kw in. On cylinders this equates to about 1-1.20 euro an hour to run so is pricey if its gonna be on 4-5 hours every nite. If its just at weekends etc not so big a deal. Oil stoves use about 3/4 litre an hour and are probably 60 cent an hour to run ( thats a guesstimate) but in my experiance tend to give a lot more trouble than any other type of stove. If you go oil be sure and have it commisioned correctly and serviced every year. Oil stoves need the correct draught in the flue not too mch not too little to work correctly where as gas once you have enough to take away the products of combustion your all set.
Pellet would be a lot more to buy and install but would only need to be cleaned out once a week and has the benefit of a timer etc and very low run cost appx 20- 40 cent per hour.
