Hi all

With all this talk about "peak oil" coming ever closer do you think that an investment in an ETF, which tracks a benchmark such as brent crude, would be a good addition to a portfolio of investments.

Any / all comments welcomed

i have invested in a natural gas etf , however it is exceptionally volatile and still could fall alot further even though the medium term prospects are very positive, i still am unsure whether i have made the right decision,

Hi joe,

I take it that you mean it could go further down before coming back.I accept that the sector is pretty volatile by its nature but taking a medium term view of things i.e 5 years -ish I would be of the view that - as part of a portfolio - an interest in the sector could be worth a punt.

I posed the question to see if any one else on here was thinking the same way. Sort of looking for support for the theory before putting it into practice !

I think it is a good bet, Natty ETF's that is. Which one (s) did you go for as a matter of interest?
