Hi

I am an Irish expat living in Russia and will be here for the short to medium term at least. My income is being paid offshore and currently Im lodging it into my normal irish current account. However I was hoping to lodge it into a demand deposit account such as Anglo's Premium Demand account.

My questions are:
  1. As Im no longer living in Ireland, am I still liable to Dirt on the interest. Is there a form I can sign and where can I get it?
  2. The irish deposit accounts are offering good interest rates however surely there are off-shore demand accounts that offer better deals?? Does anyone know of these?
Thanks,
Eoghan

As an expat living outside Ireland and presumably not been Tax resident here, surely you are better having you wages lodged into an offshore account.

Hi

I intend to do this but haven't got around to opening one yet. As I don't live in Ireland, I'm not liable to irish tax so what exactly are the advantage in opening an off-shore bank account, bearing in mind the charges are often quite high.

Regards

Eoghan
