I have an NTSC Hi-8 camcorder. I would like to play home movie tapes recorded with it into a PAL VCR to make copies. Is there a conversion box available to take an NTSC input signal and output a PAL signal? Preferably one that uses S-video.

Thanks guys

How about [broken link removed] from Maplin?

Alternatively, you could capture the NTSC to your computer and use something like MPEG Streamclip (free download from squared5.com) to do the conversion, then output to a PAL VCR.

Ive bought a ntsc - pal converter in the past and found that the conversion was poor quality, most modern vcr's will play back in both NTSC and PAL, I use an LG LV880 which has NTSC playback and only cost around €80 from argos

OK , heres one for you - I want to convert NTSC VHS tapes to PAL DVD. Any idea how I would go about this? I have a PAL VCR that can playback in NTSC and a DVR that can record PAL DVDs, if that is any use.

(sorry if this hijacks the thread but it seems to be on the same lines)
