The NPPR charge is based upon the ownership and status of the property on the 31st March 2011. Providing your house was still your Principle Private Residence on 31st March 2011, you will not be liable for the charge in 2011. However, if the house is still rented out by next 31st March, the charge will then become payable and must be paid by 30th June in order to avoid penalties.
