Northern Rock to Regular Saver account

I have a lump sum in a Northern Rock online account. I want to set up a Regular Saver Account, most probably Halifax. I'm wondering is there anyway to setup a direct debit/standing order fromt the Northern Rock account into the regular saver account or would I have to do it manually each month?

You have to do it manually. They don't do direct debits.

Halifax only accept direct debits (apart from the initial lodgement of max €750).
You'll either have to manually drip-feed the money into your current account to pay for the Halifax DD, or open an Anglo Irish regular saver, which accepts electronic transfers but gives a lower rate of 6%
