Northern Rock Extends reinvestment deadline to 31 Oct

Just spoke to two of NRs representatives and they both confirm that the deadline is extended for savers to reinvest their money and be reimbursed any interest lost as a result of withdrawals made during Septembers run.

Transferred a spare 2k into my online account last week,checked the account a few days later and was surprised to see the value date as 25/09/07.
Initially I thought it was a mistake, but then the cent dropped.

I stuck 20K back in NR last week after maxing out the best rates with Rabo (10K) and FA (15K). The rest.... I knocked a bit off my mortgage and have set aside some more for AVC/PRSA. I'm just kicking myself I missed out on gold, having got the tip last year!

As an aside, BOI offered me nothing when I approached them with my NR money, not even bothering to ring me back! Then again, I guess with their profits they don't need little people who have had accounts with them for 30 years asnd don't want mortgages!
