hi,
can anyone tell me the difference between prop. and non prop directors?

If you are classed as non prop. what class of prsi should the company be paying?

Thanks

A prporietry director owns at least 15% of in a company. My first reaction to the prsi is class A, but I have nothing off hand to back that up. What does your accountant advise?

hi
thanks for the reply.

The shareholding directors are pushing me towards class s as it is cheaper for them but I am concerned about pension and welfare implications in case things don't work out.
Our accountant is external and as far as I can see is a total yes man and will do anything they ask. He is a one man band and relies on the business from our firm.

It's up to each employee, whether a director or not, to ensure that they are on the correct paye and prsi rates/classes. Ring the scope section of social welfare, and ask them what prsi class you should be on.
