Nokia N70 - SIM Card Rejected message

Hi all

Last night everything on my phone was working fine, but this morning I keep getting the messages 'SIM Card Rejected' & 'Phone will restart'. Something must have happened during the night cause my alarm didn't go off.

I took the SIM & battery out of the phone and then put them back in, hoping that this might fix the problem, but it didn't.

Would abyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Update: Brought my phone to the local Vodafone store at lunch and the member of staff gave me a new SIM card. Issue resolved, although I've lost all data on my old SIM. I had asked her what happened and she said that sometimes "it just happens".

i had something similar happen with a nokia phone recently. it wouldn't read the sim, went to the phone shop and they put it into a reader thing they have and it couldn't read the sim either. just had to get a new sim card - no idea why it happened either.

Happened to me to with the N70.Vodafone shop replaced Sim card no problem.

Anyone know if there is a reason why the sim would suddenly be rejected? Is it caused by the phone or has the sim just reached end of life (if there's such a thing?? (Mrs boaber still uses her eircell sim from 1996!)).
