Noisy pipes

Every time the cold water tank in the attic is refilled there is a terrible noise in the pipes. There is no vibration on the pipes in the hot press going to the attic. Just wondering if it could be vibration under the floor.
I have changed the ball valve on the tank but this has made little difference

Same thing happens in my house. Usually turning on the cold tap for a minute or two does the trick. Doesn't solve the root casue of the problem, but puts you back to sleep !!
