Noise from our water tank?

Hi, every time we turn on a tap or flush the toilet, run water basically, our big water tank (think it is pressurised) turns on like a motor, very annoying as you can hear it throughout the house. Does anybody know why or how to stop this from happening or are we stuck with it?

Sounds like vibration from pipes - rapid water hammer maybe?

If so, cheap and easy to correct.

No, it isn't that noise, I know what you mean, I think it is the tank we got, will have to look into it, just wondering did anyone else have a water tank by which you turn the water on the tank turns on like an engine?? Just seems impractical to have this, but perhaps it is the tank we got, we heat our water through solar panels?

Do you have a water pump?..we have and every time you use water it sounds like a engine!...very annoying at first but you actually get used to it.

Yep, a water pump, must be the same as yourself so. Oh, can't believe we have to live with it, might try putting mdf box around it or something to muffle it a bit.

Try locating the pump and see how and where it is fixed to the floor wall or stud. I've put some rubber between the motor and my concrete floor and it does dampen the noise.
