Yes, it does seem to hold some sway over government policyDreadful tripe aimed at the most intellectually disadvantaged in Irish society.
Remember Joe is from Ballyer and the authentic accent still breaks out. When I say Ballyer, I mean the original of the species, Ballyfermot, not the pale imitation on DNS.The question from Joe was.. " Would they be dangerous and dat?"
But as against that Habemus Papem.
Haven't a Scrooby doo Joe but dey looks like dey dooby not de type to take any messin so dey dooby do.The question from Joe was.. " Would they be dangerous and dat?"
So do I. He's very knowledgeable on Irish history in general and Dublin history specifically. For a start I want to wish Joe Duffy all the best in his retirement.
I disagree there. Gay Byrne did that and nobody has come close since (or needed to). Gay changed Irish society. He brought a terrific radio show to the people, He gave voice to the voiceless and convinced many people to think.
I agree. That said he did engage in some awful tripe a good bit of the time. He’s from Ballyfermot, so what! He became successful and didn’t fear to tread where others wouldn’t. He used a good back-up team and wasn’t afraid to admit when he got something wrong.
The old line that if you're not a socialist at 18 you've no heart and if you're still a socialist at 30 you've no brain springs to mind.He will be missed by many and so what if he had leftie views when he was in university? We all have a right to change when we wish. It’s called maturing.
I can't comment until my agent makes a statement later this afternoon.I hear on the grapevine that Purple is hot favourite for the liveline slot
