No longer qualify for Carer's Allowance - Arrears Payment

Hi All,

I was awarded carer's recently and also arrears from when my application first went in (June).

My spouse was promoted in December and our means have increased. I'm sending in recent payslips so they can reassess the application and I'm almost certain this will mean I no longer qualify for the allowance which is fine. I'm also hoping that I'll be no longer needed as a carer soon and that I'll be in a position to go back to work.

Does anyone know if I'll be allowed keep the arrears from June - December (before the salary increase) and if I am, will going back to work mean that I have to repay the arrears in full as I think you have to expect to be a carer for 12 months upon application (I was on carer's benefit for 2 years prior to carer's allowance).

Basically I'm afraid to touch any of the arrears money as I don't want to be left with a big repayment bill - owing money is something I find stressful!

Any advice appreciated!

thanks
