I have a son aged 24 who had built up 4 years NCD on his insurance policy.
He has now returned from travelling only to be told that all his no claims discounts have been removed because he did not have an insurance policy in the last 2 years.
It’s hard starting from scratch again with the big premiums.
He has a valid licence for years but now getting very high quotes as if he is a first timer.
Any thoughts on where to get the best quotes ?Which insurance companies might offer more reasonable rates?

If he had the same insurer for the 4 years go back and talk to them and see if they'll do a deal
If not maybe try a broker they might be able to help
I find Aviva good as there's extra discounts if you have other policies with them including health insurance but others don't, it's really a case of trying them all and going with the cheapest

Call into an AXA office. Bring the previous NCB with you. Show you have been travelling.
They tend to be better able to do something than a broker.

Even better if a family member has an AXA policy.

He'll have to shop around a widely as possible online, maybe by phone and maybe via a broker in case they can assist. Others have offered some useful advice on other posts above too.
