Hello Folks
Any advice or pointers please ?
I have a 2004 Nissan Primera , 63000 miles on the clock.
Engine warning light came on, brought it to my local mechanic
He tells me i need a new timing chain and kit .
Cost approx 600-700 euro including labour to do the job
He is going to get me a price from the Nissan Garage for the chain and kit .
Anyone know roughly the cost of the stuff needed and he said if i can get it up North cheaper to go and buy it and he will fit it no problem for me.
Anyone any thoughts or recommendations on the job or buying it up north ?
Thanks

Same thing happened to us last year with a 2002 version and 50,000 miles on the clock it cost us €900 done in a Nissan garage locally. If you can save a few bob then by all means do so, we had no choice don't have a local mechanic so had to pay Nissan :(

Thank you for that info poohbear, good to know
I trust my local mechanic so looks like i have to bite the bullet and pay up

same thing happened to me on a '01 almera, the whole lot cost 450 all in with local garage, its a fault on alot of 01 to 02 almeras, faulty chain
