NIB Platinum Mastercard and charges

Hi all,

I am looking at switching from BOI Gold Mastercard to NIB Platinum Mastercard.

If your NIB CC account has a positive (in credit) balance,

1. Are you charged a cash advance fee for EURO withdrawals.

2. Are you charged additional fees for non-EURO withdrawals/purchases.

If anyone has any opinions on the card I would most grateful to read them.

Hi,

You know that in order to have their Platinum card, or Gold card you need to maintain either the Prestige or Easy Plus account?

Prestige with Platinum card is c. 31 euro per quarter……. Only up side is that you get 3% credit interest in your current account.

I would suggest the AIB Platinum Card, if you only want a Visa / MasterCard. Also, AIB dropped the John Rocha design now, so its just plain black J - the three blobs are gone from the top…….

Thanks for the reply.

I understand that you must hold an NIB prestige current account and that the charge is currently €125 per year.

The main draws of this credit card for me is that a Priority Pass card and travel insurance is included. As it stands I pay for both separately at the moment at a combined cost of more that the prestige current account fee.

I think a call to a branch might help tease out some of the finer points though.
