A few years ago we wanted to get an extension over our garage but our architect advised that the extension on our next door neighbours had come over into our space and we would have to get them to move it back to facilitate our extension. We decided against it with having an elderly neighbour. Now the house has gone up for sale, what are the chances that a surveyor will mention it and flag it so as the new neighbours might be aware of it if we decide t broach it with them. What is the legal position. Don't want to start with a bad footing with the neighbours but would like to reconsider the extension.
